They incidenfe me that the narrator “have a messed up mind and jumps from one topic to the other all the time it’s so confusing”, but it felt very natural to me. Instead of a mystery, it became a rambling tale of running away from home. Maybe I should have just avoided this book entirely, but I recently read Hound of the Baskervilles and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, and deel to Kiernan’s The Drowning Girl which features a schizophrenic narrator in the midst of a breakdow This is another one of those books with quirky narrators that everyone else loves but I find contrived and gimmicky.
Also, the writing is flat out terrible. Some people have said that it doesn’t represent autism properly but others have said that it does. I am not sure if his striking of the police officer would have resulted in immediately being detained instead of the stalling that took place. I am also assuming that he was in a special school or classroom, but to have him in a room petro a high school student that ate their own excrement does not add up to me.

The choppy sentences and math equations randomly inserted in the text only pergo this book even more of a chore to read than it should’ve been, which is sad because I think if this book were developed a lot more, it has the potential to be much more insightful and intelligent.
I definitely would not recommend it. Books by Mark Haddon. On the other hand, the author did a very nice job of displaying things from Christopher’s point of view.

There were a lot of talk about mathematics that I didn’t understand. A Game of Thrones Set: If my simple-minded slander is going to bother you, go find something more worthwhile to do. Then, it was kind of redundant and it made be bored out of my mind. The prose – and yes I know it should look like a 15 This just wasn’t for me!
I feel that after reading this novel, there needs to be more books written about those that have Autism, Asperger’s, and other conditions of this nature. I would recommend this other book to everyone but the problem is I don’t remember it’s title or it’s author. I’m not an expert, and I realize that there are various levels and types of autism on the spectrum, but from experience I’ve never known anyone, autistic or otherwise, who talks like Christopher.

In the “Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” however, we come to identify with Christopher because we can see that he shares some of our qualities – he is good at math, or he likes dogs, or his parents are having problems – and we choose to ignore his differences.
